Informacija apie kursus Zalcburge

 

Pirmasis Zalcburgo paliatyvios priežiūros slaugos kursas bus organizuojamas 2006 spalio 1-7 Schloss Arenberg Zalcburge, Austrija.

Kursų sponsorius yra Tarptautinė Paliatyvios Priežiūros Iniciatyva prie Atviros bendruomenės instituto (OSI) Niujorko mieste. Dalyvius turi nominuoti jų šalies koordinatoriai, galutinę dalyvių atranką vykdo OSI kursų direktoriai.

Kriterijai atrankai:

  1. Du asmenys bus pakviesti dalyvauti iš kiekvienos šalies
  1. Vyresnysis slaugos dėstytojas atsakingas už slaugytojų mokymą
  2. Klinikinės slaugos vadovas, atsakingas už slaugytojų mokymą ligoninės padaliniuose, prižiūrinčiuose pvz. onkologijos, geriatrijos, pediatrijos, infekcinių ligų ar neurologijos pacientus
  1. Visi padavę prašymus turi būti slaugytojai pagal išsilavinimą. Gydytojai šiam kursui nebus priimami. Prašymai iš slaugytojų, tik dirbančių hospisuose, nebus priimami.

SALZBURG COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT:

 

The FIRST Salzburg Nursing Course in Palliative Care will be held October 1-7, 2006 at the Schloss Arenberg in Salzburg, Austria. 

The course is sponsored by the International Palliative Care Initiative of the Open Society Institute in New York City.   Participants may be nominated by their country coordinators, with the final selection of participants by the OSI course directors. 

Criteria for selection:  

  1. Two individuals will be invited to participate from each country
    1. A senior nursing faculty in charge of teaching nurses
    2. A clinical nursing supervisor in charge of teaching nurses in a hospital setting caring for oncology, geriatric, pediatric, infectious disease or neurologic patients.
  2. All applicants must be trained nurses. No physicians will be accepted for this course. No applications will be accepted from nurses working only in hospices.
  3. The faculty for the course include:

    1. Betty Ferrell, Ph.D., Course Co-Director and Co-editor of the internationally recognized Oxford Textbook of Palliative Nursing and creator of the ELNEC (End of Life Nursing Education Curriculum);
    2. Nessa Coyle, Ph.D. Course Co-Director and co-editor of the Oxford Textbook of Palliative Nursing; Patrick Coyne, MSN, APRN, FAAN; Judith Paice, RN, PhD, FAAN;
    3. Mary Callaway, M.M.E. Course Co-Director and Director of the International Palliative Care Initiative, Open Society Institute 
    4. d. Judith Paice, RN, Ph.D. FAAN is currently the Director of the Cancer Pain Program in the Division of Hematology-Oncology and a Research Professor of Medicine, Northwestern University; Feinberg School of Medicine.

      e. Patrick Coyne, MSN, APRN, FAAN. Clinical Nurse Specialist for Palliative Care/Pain Management at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals/Virginia Commonwealth University Health Care Systems, Richmond, VA.

      The course content will include: 

      • communication with doctors, patients and families
          • pain and symptom assessment and management,
          • psychosocial and spiritual issues in palliative care, 
          • the role of the palliative care nurse on the multidisciplinary palliative care team, 
          • the nursing professional to the care of patients with life-limiting illnesses,
          • educational resources in palliative care, and
          • an update on national and international palliative care development . 

          The format of the course will include both plenary and workshop sessions.

          All applications must be received by August 15, 2006.  Selected candidates will be notified by August 30, 2006.
